Elon Musk’s Reaction to Facebook and Instagram Meltdown: Did He Press the Wrong Button Again?

As users worldwide found themselves mysteriously logged out of their Meta accounts, chaos ensued on the last major social media platform standing: X.

Who else but Elon Musk, owner of X, could be there to chuckle at the chaos?

In a characteristic X post, Musk quipped, “If youโ€™re reading this post, itโ€™s because our servers are working.”

Meanwhile, Andy Stone, Meta’s Communications Director, assured users, “We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now.”

Musk couldn’t resist adding his own commentary to Stone’s update with a tweet of his own.

The social media meltdown prompted a flood of frustrated Facebook and Instagram users to flock to X, reminiscent of the great Twitter log-out of 2022 pre-Musk era.

And as expected, Twitter became the hub for hilarious reactions and memes.

One user captured the collective panic: “Anyone else freak out and think they was being hacked?”

Another noted, “Love that I can always count on Twitter to confirm that Meta is down and weโ€™ve all been logged out of Facebook and Instagram isnโ€™t working.”

A video of Kris Jenner casually closing her laptop perfectly encapsulated the mood: “Me opening Twitter to see if my phone is not broken, and Facebook and Messenger are just down.”

It seemed like everyone and their grandmother made a triumphant return to X to comment on the technical glitch.

“Everybody checking Twitter to see if Facebook is down for everyone else,” read one tweet, accompanied by a video of The Weeknd navigating a maze.

“Everyone coming back to Twitter while Instagram and Facebook are down,” another tweet quipped, featuring a wrestling legend’s entrance.

Even 9GAG got in on the action: “Me coming to X to check if Facebook and Instagram are down for everyone or just me,” they posted, along with a GIF of Paul Rudd.

Fortunately, the websites and apps have since regained functionality. But for that one hour, social media was a minefield of memes, reactions, and hilarious videos.
