Owning property is one of the cornerstones of American freedom, a fundamental right to enjoy and care for what’s ours.
But when we’re asked to pay property taxes year after year, it feels like we’re endlessly “renting” our own land from the government.
This goes against the values many of us hold dear—freedom from excessive government oversight and the right to truly own and protect what we’ve worked hard to acquire.
Property taxes feel like a punishment for taking care of our land, homes, and investments.
They create a system where ownership is conditional, challenging the independence we believe in.
If we’re responsible for maintaining our property, why should we continually pay to keep what’s already ours?
It’s time to reconsider this approach and advocate for policies that truly support the rights and values of property owners across the nation.
