BUD LIGHT TRIES TO ‘WIN BACK’ CUSTOMERS WITH ZAC BROWN NFL COMMERCIAL

Bud Light has released a new commercial for the NFL Draft which uses Zac Brown Band’s popular country song Chicken Fried.

The beer brand received backlash from conservatives over its partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. Many called to boycott Budweiser and its parent company, Anheuser-Busch, has lost billions in market cap as sales plummeted.

Now, people think the beer company is attempting to regain revenue with a new commercial that’s being shown during the NFL Draft…Bud Light releases new Zac Brown NFL commercial
Many noticed the new Bud Light advert on their TV screens during the first day of the 2023 NFL Draft on Thursday (April 27).

It played on ESPN and sees people drinking the beer cans at a music festival, but it is the song that’s caught everyone’s attention.

In the background, Chicken Fried plays, which is a popular track released in 2008 by American country group Zac Brown Band.

“You know I like my chicken fried/ a cold beer on a Friday night,” the fitting song begins. “A pair of jeans that fit just right/ And the radio u-up.”

People think they’re trying to ‘win back’ customers
On Twitter, lots of people are saying the song choice is trying to ‘win back’ supporters, as the country band is popular with the kind of people who boycotted Bud Light.

One person wrote: “Bud Light won’t win people back with Zac Brown Band #NFLDraft.”

“Bud Light really said ‘how can we win them back?’. ‘Easy sir, with a little bit of Chicken Fried’.”

A third person added: “I also noted Bud Light’s choice of advertising, playing up the hillbilly angle to try and win back some of the anti-woke.”

“Bud Light going with Chicken Fried in a commercial trying to win back the Right,” someone else tweeted.

This comes as sales of a new beer called Conservative Dad’s Ultra Right continue to skyrocket, which founder Seth Weathers claims is a “100% woke free American beer”.

More about the Zac Brown Band
Zac Brown Band is a group based in Atlanta, Georgia, which consists of frontman Zac Brown and other members Jimmy De Martini, John Driskell Hopkins, Coy Bowles, Chris Fryar, Clay Cook, Matt Mangano, Daniel de los Reyes and Caroline Jones.

They have released seven studio albums in total, as well as two live albums, one greatest hits collection, and two extended plays. Over the years, the band has had a whopping 16 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs, 13 of which were number ones.

It contained the hit debut single Chicken Fried, but the track was re-recorded and released in 2008, which is when it gained widespread commercial success. The band’s most recent album was The Comeback in 2021, but Chicken Fried still remains their biggest track.

Some of the artists they have collaborated with over the years include Kid Rock, Jason Mraz, Avicii, Dave Grohl, Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett.
