Whoopi Goldberg Sends Sara Haines Screaming By Quoting ‘Ghost’ On ‘The View’

Whoopi Goldberg was an icon long before The View, and she revisited one of her famous roles on this morning’s episode of the talk show, much to her co-hosts’ delight.

The moderator quoted her character from 1990’s Ghost during a Hot Topics conversation about Liz Cheney‘s new book, Oath and Honor.

As Goldberg pointed out on today’s show, Cheney’s book is debuting as the 2024 presidential race is heating up, with the recent Koch network endorsement of Donald Trump opponent Nikki Haley.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, a Republican who worked in the Trump White House, said she was “for” Haley as she “inches up on Trump” in key states, arguing that the former Governor of South Carolina “is not a danger to democracy,” unlike her old boss.

As the conversation shifted to Trump’s strategies for 2024, Goldberg said the truth “does not matter very much these days,” and she wants a leader who is looking out for the country.

“I want whoever is gonna stand for us, the American people,” she began. “I don’t mind Republican, Democrat, I don’t mind it because it gives us an argument. But when you’re not taking us into consideration and it’s about holding onto power, you’re a danger, all of you.”

She clarified, “When I say ‘All of you,’ I don’t mean all of you,” gesturing to the panel. Sunny Hostin chimed in, “She’s not saying, ‘You in danger, girl.’”Seconds later, that was exactly what Goldberg did say.

“You in danger, girl,” she flawlessly proclaimed, earning a full shout from Sara Haines, who couldn’t control her excitement, while Hostin remarked, “She’s saying it!”

Haines, who sits next to Goldberg at the table, yelled, “Yeah!” and pumped her fists as Goldberg humbly nodded and smiled. Haines — a self-professed hugger — then leaned over to Goldberg and embraced her with a big grin on her face.
