The war between Israel and Hamas heated up again when some sort of munition, whether a bomb or faulty rocket, slammed into the Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza. The hospital, founded in 1882 and run by the Anglican Church, was apparently quite crowded at the time, as casualty counts from the incident are generally reported to be in the hundreds.
Fingers were immediately pointed after the horrible incident, with Palestinians and their supporters claiming that Israel hit the hospital with a guided munition while Israel and its supporters claimed that the hospital was hit by a faulty Hamas roc ket.
“Squad” member Rashida Tlaib, a hyper-progressive Democrat representative who has been very outspoken on the side of Hamas during the conflict, quickly took to X, formerly Twitter, to blame Israel for the explosion and resultant casualties.
She wrote, “Israel just bombed the Baptist Hospital killing 500 Palestinians (doctors, children, patients) just like that. @POTUS this is what happens when you refuse to facilitate a ceasefire & help de-escalate. Your war and destruction only approach has opened my eyes and many Palestinian Americans and Muslims Americans like me. We will remember where you stood.”
2024 GOP presidential candidate Tim Scott exploded on Rep. Tlaib’s rhetoric in a statement to Fox News Digital, saying, “Frankly, I know we shouldn’t expect more from the Squad, but the Squad becoming an extension of the Hamas propaganda machine, it is disgraceful, and it is costly.”
Continuing, Sen. Scott added that such rhetoric needs to be quashed immediately rather than given any room in which to grow and spread, telling Fox News Digital, “I think we should be very careful to allow it any daylight.”Sen. Scott then continued deriding her rhetoric, even characterizing it as deadly, saying, “It’s just disgusting, to be honest with you, I can’t think of a clearer word. Not only is it misinformed and wrongheaded, but it’s deadly.”
Sen. Scott then went on to highlight the dire strategic situation Israel faces, saying, “This morning, I started thinking about the fact that now Israel’s going to have to fight a war, a second war, but it is a war against information, and this could be the most dangerous war, because this war has real consequences, and we’re seeing the consequences immediately taking the word of an evil, lying terrorist organization.”
He added, “Hezbollah is mobilizing, there’s been a specific and clear attempt led by Hamas to weaken Israel’s standing, and when the media buys into that, it creates a misinformation war that could be more deadly than the actual physical war.”Scott also blasted Tlaib for hanging a Palestinian flag outside of her Congressional office, saying, “These are dangerous times, and part of that being led by members of Congress, having one flying the Palestinian flag the last time I checked in the halls of Congress, paid for by the American taxpayers.” He concluded by adding, “That’s a dangerous mixed message to send right now.”
