During Sheryl Lee Ralph’s appearance on The View on Wednesday, Whoopi Goldberg, 68, extended an invitation to Ralph, 67, who had a role in Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit (1993), to join an upcoming Sister Act cast reunion. Goldberg also asked the Emmy winner if she would consider starring in the long-awaited third sequel, which has been in development for years.
Goldberg shared the exciting news with Ralph after airing a scene from Sister Act 2. She said, “Something thatโs gonna happen here in order to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Sister Act 2, the producers here at The View are working on putting together a reunion. And weโre gonna try to get as many cast members on to share memories from the movie. Would you do us the honor of coming back? And as soon as we know when it is, weโll do that.”
In response, Ralph expressed her enthusiasm to return to The View for the cast reunion. Goldberg then went further and asked Ralph to consider being part of the third movie they are in the process of putting together. She said, “I will also do this. Weโre in the process of putting together [the third movie]. Will you come be part of it? Whatever it is.”
Ralph emotionally accepted Goldberg’s proposal for a third film during the broadcast.
